AGBARA, OGUN STATE – The Rotary Club of Agbara was graced with an official visit from the Rotary International District 9111 Governor, Rotarian Prince Henry Akinyele, ahead the commissioning of project in two primary schools, in Ogun state.
The high-energy event, held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, served as a powerful catalyst as the club's set the stage for the imminent commissioning of vital projects in Idonyin and Idoye primary school in schools within Ogun State.
The visit was a multi-faceted affair, beginning with a strategic board meeting where Governor Akinyele engaged directly with the club's leadership. Describing the session as "robust," the Governor expressed his enthusiasm for the outcomes.
"I feel so happy, I feel so excited to pay my official visit to the Rotary Club of Agbara today; it's been a memorable one," he stated. "Starting from the Board meeting we had, we were able to upscale our goals and had a robust discussion on how to move the club forward. We hope to see the impact of these discussions on the growth of the club." This collaborative planning session underscored a shared commitment to expanding the club's positive footprint in the Agbara community and beyond.
Following the strategic huddle, the Governor was ushered into the main fellowship meeting held at the club's regular venue, Opic Plaza, Agbara. The atmosphere was charged with a sense of occasion, blending celebration with purposeful action.
The fellowship witnessed two key highlights: the raising of funds for the Rotary Foundation, the charitable arm of Rotary International that funds global grants and projects, and the induction of a new member into the club a testament to its growing influence and appeal. The event also served as a mini-reunion, with the attendance of Past Presidents whose service to the club spanned back over two decades, symbolizing a strong legacy of continuity and dedication.
The club's President, Rotarian Fati Boluwaji, beamed with pride as he hosted the District's highest-ranking officer. For President Boluwaji, the visit was the fulfillment of a key leadership aspiration.
"Since my installation as the President, I've been looking forward to a day like this," he expressed. "Having the Governor in my club is a memorable visit for the club. It is not just an honor but a tremendous source of motivation for every member here. It reaffirms that our work is seen and that we are a vital part of the larger District 9111 family."
