Rotaract Districts 9111 and 9112 have met with the Lagos State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), aimed at creating a collaboration to develop the potential of young people across Lagos and Ogun States.

The delegation was warmly received by the Lagos State NYCN Chairman, Engr. Ibrahim Adigun, on Tuesday at the Youth House in Yaba, Lagos State

The visit included not only DRR District 9111 Senu Awesu but also his counterpart from Rotaract District 9112, Rotaractor Ismail Atitebi, along with immediate past leaders and a team of twelve district representatives. This show of force underscored the seriousness of Rotaract's commitment to broad-based partnership.

Rotaractor Senu Awesu highlighted the core objective of the strategic meeting: to leverage the NYCN’s vast audience and platform. "We discussed partnership and leveraging on his audience to bring more young people into Rotaract," Awesu stated, emphasizing the goal to equip youths with essential leadership skills and professional skills. This initiative is designed to empower them to contribute to their communities using their "Four T's" – Time, Talent, Treasure, and Ties.

Engr. Ibrahim Adigun commended the Rotaract leaders for their exemplary service and commitment to advancing the values of Rotary International. He applauded them for “flying the flags high and making us proud” through their dedication to humanity. This mutual respect forms a solid foundation for a productive partnership focused on tangible outcomes.

The collaboration will specifically target programs built around Rotary’s seven areas of focus. These critical areas include peacebuilding and conflict resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy, community economic development, and environmental protection. Adigun confirmed that these priorities perfectly align with the NYCN Lagos P3+ Agenda, which is centred on Peace, Progress, Prosperity, and Partnerships.
