LAGOS, NIGERIA - The Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN) South West Region has warmly congratulated Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin on his recent appointment as the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

The National Vice President for the South West, Hon. Apata Samson Nunayon, praised the appointment, characterizing it as a strategic move by the Nigeria Police Force to strengthen its public image and community engagement.

Apata emphasized that CSP Hundeyin’s expertise in communication and security is a vital asset that will play a pivotal role in promoting a positive image of the police force and enhancing critical security measures nationwide.

A key expectation from the tourism sector is a direct positive impact on one of Lagos's most important tourist corridors. Hon. Apata expressed strong hope that CSP Hundeyin's leadership will lead to a reduction in unnecessary police checkpoints on the notoriously challenging Lagos-Badagry Expressway. This issue has long been a concern for tourists and legitimate travelers, and streamlining these security operations is seen as essential for improving the overall visitor experience to the historic destination of Badagry.

Furthermore, given CSP Hundeyin’s roots in the Badagry region, his appointment is anticipated to bring a valuable local perspective to security management. This insight is expected to benefit not only the Lagos-Badagry route but also the critical Seme Border Road, enhancing safety and facilitating smoother travel for both domestic and international tourists.

Assuring total support, Hon. Apata confirmed the ATPN's commitment to collaborate closely with the new Force PRO. The association believes this appointment will solidify security protocols for the tourism industry and is eager to work with CSP Hundeyin to foster a safer, more secure environment, thereby driving the growth and development of Nigerian tourism.
