OGUN STATE, Nigeria – In a significant move set to boost Nigeria's agricultural export potential, Reftop Homes, a company owned by prominent Badagry entrepreneur Mr. Assogba, has secured a major partnership with Chinese investors for its expansive 2,500-acre Palm Crest plantation project in Ogun State.
The strategic collaboration, formalized at a meeting at Reftop Homes' headquarters, focuses on the establishment of a state-of-the-art palm oil refinery. This initiative is poised to dramatically increase output, enhance processing efficiency, and open new international market opportunities for Nigerian palm oil.
The partnership will see the infusion of advanced Chinese agricultural and processing technology across the entire production chain—from modern cultivation and harvesting techniques to high-tech refining processes. Reftop Homes stated that this technological transfer is crucial for raising production standards, improving yield, and ensuring the Palm Crest project meets competitive international benchmarks.
Mr. Assogba, Chief Executive Officer of Reftop Homes, hailed the partnership as a transformative milestone. “This collaboration is a giant leap forward for the Palm Crest vision,” he stated. “It’s not just about expanding the project's scale; it's about embedding sustainable technology and processes that will generate lasting value and a profound positive impact on Nigeria's agricultural sector.”
Beyond the refinery, the agreement encompasses long-term investment in supporting infrastructure and capacity building designed to ensure the project's sustainable growth.
The Palm Crest project is anticipated to deliver substantial socio-economic benefits to the region, including the creation of numerous direct and indirect jobs, support for local farmers through knowledge transfer, and a significant reduction in the nation's reliance on imported palm oil a key agenda under the federal government’s drive for agricultural self-sufficiency.
This investment marks a growing trend of international confidence in Nigeria's agribusiness potential and positions Ogun State as an emerging hub for large-scale, technology-driven agricultural projects.
