The Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN) Southwest Region has urged its members to collaborate with Onídìrì: A Heritage Salute to Skill & Style, a cultural festival celebrating African hair artistry.
The call was announced in an official statement by Alaketu S. Abiodun Olamide, Secretary to Hon. Apata Samson Nunayon, National Vice President of ATPN Southwest.
This partnership highlights the region’s commitment to preserving and promoting Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage.
The event, convened by HRM Olori Rebecca Temitope Oloko, Olori of Iwaya Yaba Kingdom, aims to honor the history and craftsmanship of traditional African hairstyling.
Scheduled for Tuesday, 19th August 2025, at the Oba Oloko Palace Crescent, Off Balogun Street, Iwaya-Yaba, Lagos, the festival promises an immersive experience into the artistry and storytelling behind Africa’s hair traditions.
Attendees can look forward to free hairstyling sessions for women, a runway fashion show blending tradition with modern trends, and a cultural showcase featuring oral histories and heritage preservation.
The festival also offers networking opportunities for artisans, tourism professionals, and cultural enthusiasts, fostering business growth and community empowerment.
