Deji Bakare, Mr. Nigeria 2011, spearheaded the results collation at Badagry Fastest Designer 2.0, where emerging designers competed for sewing machines. Emotional moments, political endorsements, and high drama defined the event.  


The Badagry Fastest Designer (BAFAD) 2.0 event lived up to its reputation as a thrilling platform for emerging fashion talent, with Mr. Nigeria 2011 winner Deji Bakare playing a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless result collation process. Held on July 1, 2025, the competition showcased creativity, suspense, and raw emotion as contestants vied for top honors. 


The event, aimed at nurturing fashion designers in Badagry, saw participants competing in male and female categories, with winners walking away with brand-new sewing machines a crucial tool for their craft. As the results were announced, emotions overflowed, with many contestants breaking into tears of joy and nervous anticipation.  


The electrifying atmosphere was amplified by the event’s charismatic MC, Emmanuel Amuwo, whose dramatic delivery kept the audience on edge. "You could feel the tension in the air contestants and spectators alike were moved to tears," said an attendee.  


Adding prestige to the occasion was the presence of the Badagry APC chairmanship candidate for the upcoming local government elections, who served as the **Father of the Day. In a strong show of support, he declared:  


"The Badagry Local Government and I fully endorse this initiative. Empowering young designers is key to our community’s growth."  


This endorsement signals a promising future for BAFAD, which has rapidly gained recognition as a hub for talent discovery and empowerment in Nigeria’s fashion scene.  

  

Miss Tuniminu Anthony, the visionary convener of BAFAD, expressed her commitment to expanding the platform’s impact.  


"This year’s theme, ‘Emerging Through Pieces,’ pushed our contestants harder than ever. Their dedication was inspiring, and we will keep raising the bar,"* she stated.
