Ajande Pascal and Mobolaji Ogunlende |
Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, has facilitated another life-changing opportunity for a Badagry youth.
Ajande Pascal Viweavo is set to attend a prestigious leadership and academic training program at Queen’s University in Toronto, Canada, sponsored by the Lagos State Government.
This development comes just months after Commissioner Ogunlende facilitated Mr. Kiki Augustine’s trip to India for a professional course, which followed Wande Desmond’s educational journey to the same country. The consistent efforts highlight the commissioner’s dedication to unlocking opportunities for young Lagosians, particularly those from underserved communities like Badagry.
In an emotional statement, Ajande expressed overwhelming gratitude for the opportunity. "When I received the news, I was overcome with emotion, and tears of joy streamed down my face. This opportunity is a dream come true, and I am grateful for the trust and investment in my potential," he shared.
Ajande also extended heartfelt appreciation to Commissioner Ogunlende, describing him as an inspiring leader with a clear vision for youth development in Lagos State. "Your leadership and vision for empowering Lagos State’s youth are truly inspiring," he added.
Commissioner Ogunlende’s initiatives align with the Lagos State Government’s broader agenda to equip young people with world-class skills and exposure. By facilitating international training programs, the commissioner is fostering a new generation of leaders who will contribute meaningfully to the state and nation.
Ajande’s program at Queen’s University, one of Canada’s top institutions, will focus on leadership development, academic excellence, and global networking key components in preparing youths for future challenges.
With great enthusiasm, Ajande pledged to maximize the opportunity and represent Lagos State with excellence. *"I am committed to making the most of this experience, delivering exceptional results, and making Lagos State proud,"* he affirmed.
As more Badagry youths benefit from such initiatives, Commissioner Ogunlende’s impact continues to grow, reinforcing his reputation as a transformative leader in youth empowerment. The Lagos State Government’s investment in human capital development sets a strong precedent for other states to follow.
