A viral video captured the incident, showing the Nigerian president pausing mid-sentence as guards rushed to block an unidentified individual approaching the stage.
While delivering a public address, President Tinubu abruptly stopped speaking as his security team moved to intercept an intruder attempting to reach the podium. The motive behind the breach remains unclear, but presidential guards successfully prevented the individual from getting closer before escorting him away.
Moments later, Tinubu was heard saying, “Leave him alone,” before resuming his speech. The incident has sparked discussions about presidential security protocols in Nigeria.
In a separate development, angry youths in Kano vandalized a 2027 re-election campaign billboard featuring President Tinubu, expressing frustration with his administration. The act highlights growing political tensions as Nigeria navigates economic and security challenges.
