Musbau Ashafa |
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Hon. Musbau Ashafa, the Executive Chairman of Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area (LCDA), who passed away on Friday after a prolonged illness.
Cornelius Ojelabi, Lagos APC Chairman, described Ashafa’s death as a "painful loss" for the party and grassroots politics.
In a heartfelt statement, Ojelabi praised Ashafa’s "tireless dedication, unifying leadership, and indelible impact" on Oto-Awori LCDA and Lagos politics.
“Your ability to bring people together and drive development was unmatched. Your passing, just weeks before local government elections, is a tragic blow,” Ojelabi lamented.
Ashafa, a two-term council chairman, was also a former APC chairman in Oto-Awori LCDA and had previously served as Chairman of the old Ojo LGA during Gen. Sani Abacha’s regime.
Ojelabi extended condolences to Ashafa’s family, urging them to take solace in his "lasting legacy of service."
“May Almighty God grant your family strength. Your contributions to Lagos APC will never be forgotten,” he said.
Ashafa’s death leaves a void in Lagos grassroots governance, with the party mourning a leader whose vision and passion inspired many.
