Ikeja Court Remands Trio for Alleged Defilement of 16-Year-Old Girl

An Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court has ordered the remand of three men Owhe Oghenero, Kingsley Oni, and Olorunwa Abina at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre over the alleged defilement of a 16-year-old girl.  

The accused were arraigned on a one-count charge of defilement but pleaded not guilty. Justice Rahman Oshodi adjourned the case to October 27, 2024, for trial commencement.  

The Lagos State prosecution, led by Bukola Okeowo, alleged that the defendants committed the offense in 2023 at Aradagun, Badagry, by engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse with the minor.  

The prosecution plans to call five witnesses to testify against the accused. If convicted, the defendants could face severe penalties under Section 137 of Lagos State Criminal Law (2015).
