Nigerian Army Exposes Foreign Mercenaries Boosting Boko Haram & ISWAP with High-Tech Terror Tactics

The Nigerian Army has raised the alarm over foreign mercenaries aiding Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists, escalating violence with advanced warfare tactics, including drone attacks and arms smuggling.  


Maj.-Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar, Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, revealed this during a media briefing in Maiduguri, confirming the arrest of four Pakistani nationals linked to arms trafficking with insurgents.  


Abubakar stated that foreign fighters are providing tactical training to terrorists, leading to:  Drone warfare against troops. Sophisticated IEDs** and public traps. Enhanced coordination, causing higher military casualties  


"The arrest of these foreign mercenaries proves their role in refining terrorist strategies,"* he said, warning that Boko Haram and ISWAP are waging war not just against the military but all of Nigeria.  


The Army urged: Boosted intelligence operations, Tighter regional cooperation to dismantle cross-border terror networks, Media support in framing terrorism as a national crisis.  


Despite the growing threat, Nigerian forces continue stabilizing terror-hit communities in asymmetric warfare conditions.
