"We Will Uphold Late GAC Leader’s Wish for Hunpe’s Candidacy" – Tafa Dada

The All Progressives Congress (APC) executives in Badagry Local Government have thrown their weight behind Hon. Babatunde Hunpe’s chairmanship bid, describing him as the most qualified aspirant to lead the council.

The endorsement came during Hunpe’s consultative visit to the party secretariat, where leaders praised his track record in public service and commitment to Badagry’s development.

APC Badagry LGA Chairman, Hon. Muritala Gafar, expressed confidence in Hunpe’s leadership, citing his years of service from his days as a Protocol Officer at Lagos State University (LASU) to his tenure as a federal lawmaker.

“We have watched Hunpe grow through the ranks Special Adviser, House of Representatives member and he has always delivered. The party will prioritize competence, loyalty, and experience in selecting our candidate, and Hunpe embodies all three,” Gafar declared.

Speaking on behalf of the APC Apex Leaders, Mr. Tafa Dada revealed that the late Governance Advisory Council (GAC) member, Hon. Akinsanya Sunny Ajose, had endorsed Hunpe before his passing.

“Baba Ajose made it clear: Hunpe is his anointed candidate to succeed Hon. Onilude. As loyal party members, we stand by that decision. Hunpe has the experience, vision, and grassroots connection to take Badagry forward,” Dada affirmed.

In his address, Hunpe thanked the party leaders for their support and promised to prioritize grassroots development if elected.

“I may not be perfect, but my record in public service is unmatched. From securing educational opportunities for Badagry youths to building roads and health centres as a lawmaker, I’ve always put our people first. As chairman, I will double these efforts,” he vowed.

Hunpe’s Campaign Director General, Hon. Yahaya Lateef, emphasized the aspirant’s widespread acceptance, stating, “Hunpe’s achievements market him. No marketer needs to exaggerate his credentials his work speaks for itself.”

After the meeting, Hunpe and his team proceeded to Wards G and J for further consultations, solidifying his grassroots appeal ahead of the APC primaries.

With strong party backing and a proven track record, Hunpe’s campaign is gaining momentum as Badagry stakeholders rally behind his vision for transformative leadership.
