Ogun State Takes Center Stage in Boosting Sports Tourism and Economic Growth*

The Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN) South West Region has lauded the Ogun State Government for its outstanding efforts in hosting the National Sports Festival 2025, set to kick off on Friday, May 16, 2025.
In a press statement issued by Hon. Apata Samson Nunayon, National Vice President of ATPN South West Region, the association praised the state’s commitment to advancing sports tourism, a key driver of economic development and cultural exchange.
The National Sports Festival is more than just a sporting event it’s a powerful platform for tourism promotion, job creation, and local business stimulation. The South West Region, known for its rich heritage, scenic landscapes, and top-tier infrastructure, is poised to leverage this event to attract domestic and international visitors.

The ATPN South West Region extended commendations to: Hon. Dr. Sesan Fagbayi, Ogun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, for his dedication to tourism growth and collaborative engagement with stakeholders. His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Governor of Ogun State, for his visionary leadership in positioning the state as a premier destination for sports and cultural tourism.
The association encouraged investors to explore business opportunities in the region, emphasizing its strategic location, investor-friendly policies, and untapped potential in sports tourism.
