The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Badagry has launched a high-stakes reconciliation campaign to mend internal rifts and solidify its base before the upcoming local government elections.

The move signals a strategic effort to present a united front and maximize electoral success.

In an official statement released on Tuesday, the APC Badagry leadership disclosed plans for a sweeping reconciliation initiative targeting aggrieved members across all wards. The party aims to address lingering grievances, foster collaboration, and ensure full participation from stakeholders ahead of the polls.

Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, the APC Chairmanship candidate, urged councillorship hopefuls to spearhead reconciliation efforts in their respective zones. He stressed that party cohesion is non-negotiable for victory. “This election is about Badagry’s progress, not individual ambitions,” Hunpe declared. He confirmed that APC leaders will personally oversee ward-level peace talks to resolve disputes.

Echoing Hunpe’s stance, APC Badagry Chairman Hon. Gafar Meyon Muritala vowed that no member would be sidelined. “The party belongs to everyone, and we are committed to genuine engagement,” he said. Muritala emphasized that reconciliation is key to securing a landslide win in the local government elections.

The APC’s reconciliation drive includes direct outreach to disaffected members, conflict resolution meetings, and confidence-building measures. Party officials are optimistic that the initiative will re-energize supporters and attract undecided voters.

With the local government elections approaching, a united APC is crucial to maintaining its dominance in Badagry. Analysts suggest that internal harmony could be the deciding factor against opposition parties seeking to capitalize on any divisions.

The party plans to roll out ward-by-ward consultations in the coming weeks, ensuring all disputes are resolved before campaign season peaks. If successful, this reconciliation push could set a blueprint for conflict resolution in Lagos politics.

As APC Badagry moves to close ranks, all eyes are on whether this unity drive will translate into electoral triumph. One thing is certain: a fractured party risks defeat, but a reconciled APC could be unstoppable.
