Kazeem Sanusi, a final-year mathematics student at the University of Ilorin (Unilorin), has reportedly set a new Guinness World Record for the Longest Mathematics Lesson delivering an astonishing 31 hours, 42 minutes, and 54 seconds of continuous teaching.
The incredible feat was officially announced by the university’s spokesperson, Kunle Akogun, in a statement on Tuesday. Guinness World Records representatives were present to witness the event, where Sanusi surpassed the previous record of 26 hours.
The record-breaking lecture captivated an enthusiastic audience, including Unilorin’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), Prof. Adegboyega Fawole. Also in attendance were the Registrar, Mansur Alfanla, Dean of Physical Sciences, Prof. Abdullahi Baba, Dean of Student Affairs, Alex Akanmu, and Student Union President, Victor Agezeh, among other dignitaries.
Sanusi’s remarkable achievement not only highlights his dedication but also shines a spotlight on academic excellence at Unilorin. The event has sparked widespread admiration, reinforcing the university’s reputation for fostering exceptional talent.
