Court remands three notorious robbers terrorising Badagry community

The Lagos State chief magistrate court seating in Badagry has remanded three notorious burglars Taofeek Wasiu, 26 years old, Akinsola Babatunde, 21 years old and Sunday Oyegbele, 20 years old, who have been terrorising Badagry communities in Lagos State.


The communities where they operate are Gbeyon Cda, Mijaya Cda, Mauwedo Cda, and Wayinna Cda, all in Igborosun. Agbojetho area of Ikoga and Iragon Oke, in Badagry, Lagos State. The three duos were arrested on 18th February 2025. Arranged before court on February 21, 2025, the case has been adjourned to March 26th, 2025.


Taofeek and Babatunde on the 18th of February 2025 at about 11am at Fawa Street, Iragon, Ikoga, Badagry, Lagos State. Steal one GP water tank 2,000litre value sum of two hundred and ten thousand naira (N210,000:00K), Plasma television value sum of two hundred thousand naira (N200,000) gas cylinder 6kg value the sum of thirty thousand naira (N30,000) and an Itel phone worth twenty thousand naira (N20,000) total value four hundred and sixty thousand naira (N460,000) property of one ODEKU DARE 'M, this the court said is an offence punishable under section 287 of the criminal laws of Lagos state 2015 section 411 of the criminal laws of Lagos state 2015.


Sunday Oyegbele, a 20-year-old, stole iron rods at Aso Rock Ikoga-Zebbe Badagry, Lagos State, valued at five hundred thousand Naira (N500,000) property of EGBOWON Johnson. The court said it is an offence punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.


Mr. Kappo Joel Maiwedo, CDA chairman, said "over the years these guys have continued to threaten the peace of our community, stealing almost all pumping machines in the community, generators, and several valuable items. The havoc they have caused in the community is enoug, we now have zero tolerance for stealing.


"Anyone caught in the act will visit the law court. I want to appreciate the efforts of the Oba and Baales in Ikoga kingdom for their support, Nigeria Police Force Morogbo, and the Ikoga post. The landlords and CDA members for their cooperation. Other personalities behind the scenes," he said.
