Samson Apata releases seven-point agenda for South West Tourism

Hon. Samson Nunayon Apata, the National Vice President Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN) South West Region, has released a seven-point agenda as the guidelines for his administration. 

This was made available to journalists on Thursday by Manoah Kikekon, the personal media aide to Apata.

The statement reads, "Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed stakeholders, and fellow tourism enthusiasts, I am honored to present the 2025 Comprehensive Agenda for the South West region.

"As we continue to work towards promoting tourism development in Nigeria, this agenda outlines key focus areas and initiatives aimed at driving growth and enhancing the tourism potential of the South West region.

Our 7-Point Agenda:

1. Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships*: Foster collaborations with key stakeholders to promote tourism development.

2. Membership Drive, Chapter Development, and Activations*: Increase membership, develop and activate chapters to promote tourism growth.

3. South West Tourism Product Development*: Develop unique tourism products to promote the South West Region.

4. Quarterly Fam-Tours*: Organize familiarization tours to promote destinations in the South West Region.

5. Capacity Building via Seminars and Workshops*: Enhance the capacity of ATPN members and stakeholders through training and development programs.

6. Academic/Professional Conference*: Host a conference to discuss tourism development in Nigeria.

7. Tourism Advocacy Initiative*: Advocate for policy support and funding for tourism development in the South West Region.

Apata invites all stakeholders to join hands with him in achieving his vision of making the South West Region a premier tourism destination in Nigeria. "Let us work together to unlock the vast tourism potential of our region and contribute to the growth and development of our nation," he added.
