President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will host Nigerian youths as they gather at the Presidential Villa in Abuja for the 2nd Progressive Young Leaders Summit (PYLS) 2024.
Dr. Dayo Israel, National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made the announcement in a message to journalists on Friday. The three-day event, themed "Shaping the Future We Want: From Restiveness to Inclusion, Action, and Development," will take place from September 3rd to 5th, 2024, and will be officially launched by Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima.
According to the APC chieftain, the summit, organised by the ruling party in partnership with the Office of the APC National Youth Leader, is dedicated to channelling young Nigerians' energy and aspirations towards creating a future that symbolises their collective ideals.
He stated that the summit, which would conclude with a communiqué to President Tinubu, will bring together eminent Nigerian public and private sector leaders, government officials, policymakers, and energetic young executives.
He stated that the event intends to bridge the gap between youth and government, promote intergenerational discussion, and create a forum for young Nigerians to actively engage with President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.
"The Summit will feature a series of Ministerial Town Hall sessions, where participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with government leaders on critical issues such as education, technology, economic development, and institutional reforms, focussing on integrating actionable solutions into the administration's policy frameworks," according to the announcement.
Israel highlighted the summit, which is scheduled to attract over 3,000 participants from around the country, as a critical step towards ensuring that young Nigerians' opinions are not only heard but also play an important role in influencing the country's development agenda. He stated that President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima's personal involvement demonstrates their unshakeable commitment to youth inclusion and empowerment.
"This Summit intends to tap into the passionate and innovative spirit of young Nigerians.
"We invite all young Nigerians to join us for this historic event. "Register today at bit.ly/pylsummit2024 and be a part of the movement that shapes our collective future," he added.
