In an attempt to further celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Lagos and promote a global brand, the Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Tourism, Art, and Culture, has officially endorsed the Destination Lagos Awards (DELA) & Oju Ibile Eko Beauty Pageant.
The event, Destination Lagos Awards & Oju Ibile Eko Beauty Pageant, is organised by a notable Lagos tourism professional, Hon. Apata Samson Nunayon, Chairman Eko Destination Ltd., Director of Eko Online Radio, and Chairman Association of Tourism Practitioners (ATPN), Lagos State.
In his words, Apata said that the event is aimed at recognising outstanding individuals who have contributed immensely to Lagos tourism development through impactful leadership and promotion of Lagos tourism potentials such as cultural heritage, hospitality businesses, creative arts, museum management, and lots more.

According to Apata, the maiden edition of the event is scheduled to hold in three phases between September and October this year, 2024.
As part of the outlined programs, the classy award events tend to also showcase the originality of our content as a people, the real LAGOS that we represent via several expressions such as beauty pageants, cultural displays, and talent discovery.
Apata said that the Destination Lagos Awards (DELA) will be given platforms to interested persons, companies, and tourism practitioners who wish to be a part of this epoch making event through sponsorship and advertisement.
