The apex leaders of Badagry West, LCDA has extolled Hon. Princess Sesi Ogungbe-Yusuf, the first female chairmanship aspirant from Badagry West for her performance, dedication, commitment to the party, and her courage to contest in the upcoming local government elections in Lagos State

This statement was made on Monday during Ogungbe's visit to the apex leaders of the LCDA, headed by Hon. Bamgbose Hontonyon Joseph, MHR.

At the meeting, Ogungbe said her purpose of visiting was to inform the leaders of her intention to contest for the post of chairman in the 2025 local government elections and further seek their support, noting that she will deliver to the best of local government practice and take the welfare of the people as a priority.

"My vision is to run an open, inclusive, and effective system of government where the welfare of the people will be taken seriously, and major development will be activated in the area, leaving no sector behind". She said.

Ogungbe also briefly recounts some of her achievements and profile, saying she is the most qualified aspirant considering her civil service and political experience.

Ogungbe's spokesperson, Solomon Zosu, extends special appreciation to the leaders for their advisory role in the party.

He further expressed that Hon. Sesi Ogungbe is the best aspirant so far, explaining that the council needed a competent person to step into the wide gap that would be left by previous leader due to their excellent performance and Ogungbe is the only candidate that best fits.

"Sesi Ogungbe Yussuf is the only aspirant with the highest educational qualification as a Masters holder with over 20 years of political and civil service experience.

"While i commend the previous and present council chairmen for their outstanding performance, especially as community builders, we appeal to the leadership to consider the only female as a way of promoting gender equality, constitutional adherence, and the benefit of all," Zosu said.

Hon. Bamgbose Joseph commends Ogungbe and encourages her not to relent, adding that he has not seen any female aspirant contesting for now except Ogungbe. "That alone is a plus to you and your team. It shows your capacity, and we are proud of you. Said Bamgbose".

He also advises Ogungbe to remain loyal to the APC party, explaining that at the right time, the party would make its decision.

Alh. Okejale Osenatu, the Apex Woman Leader, Badagry West, and a member of apex leaders gave her strong support to the female aspirant, saying women should be giving a voice.

She advised Ogungbe to remain steadfast, strategic, and focused in her mobilisation and campaign.
