Governor Ademola Adeleke has received the fellowship award from a socio-cultural group, the Ede Unique Club of Nigeria, in recognition of the various infrastructure development projects undertaken since resuming office.

Wale Ojetimi, the organisation's spokesperson, said in a statement on Tuesday in Osogbo that the fellowship award would be presented in Ede on Thursday as part of the organization's 40th anniversary celebrations.

Mr Ojetimi stated that the award was a testament to Mr Adeleke's accomplishments and his progeny's outstanding contributions to the socioeconomic and political development of Osun and Nigeria.

He also stated that the governor would open the N5.5 million solar-powered facility donated by the club to the State Hospital in Ede.

Mr Ojetimi stated that the solar-powered facility was part of the company's 40th anniversary corporate social responsibility initiative.

He stated that the event, which will be presided over by the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Lawal, will include an anniversary lecture delivered by Mojeed Alabi, a former Osun House of Assembly speaker.

According to him, Wale Abass, a retired assistant inspector general of police (AIG), will be one of the prominent individuals receiving special recognition awards at the event.

Mr. Abass recently retired from the Nigeria Police Force as an AIG after 35 years of service.

The club is a nonpartisan, socio-cultural organisation made up of leaders in business, academia, the professions, and public service who have excelled in their respective fields and are making a positive contribution to society in Nigeria and abroad.

Established in 1983, the organisation works in human capital and social development, with a particular emphasis on the development of young people.
