Hon. Ajulo Mautin, an Aspirant in the Badagry Local Government Chairmanship election race 2025, has come out to articulate the fact that good leadership manifests in wealth of experience, innovation, capacity, good thinking and vision and that he is the best man for the job, as he rolls out his profile for public digestion.
In an exclusive interview with our correspondent, on Sunday, he espoused wealth of experience in administration, accounting, security, hospitality management as key to the development of Badagry. He further added that he has a lot in store for the people of Badagry as his avowed philanthropic and humanitarian gestures towards Badagry youths and the people generally dates back to the 1990s.
Ajulo implored the people to consider aspirant who has the love of Badagry at heart and invariably prioritizes the people’s interest. He said by nature he is a philanthropist and "My philanthropic gesture does not just start today, it has always been a part of me, and this is what my administration will essentially manifest mostly to make Badagry better and improve the quality of life of every average Badagrian and the residents alike."
As an aspirant to the prestigious office of Chairman, Badagry Local Government, Ajulo's wealth of experience, capacity, exposure and ability stand him out conspicuously among others. He is a security expert, a successful accountant and a management expert: Ajulo is naturally positioned as the best man to provide the leadership Badagry Local Government deserves at this critical period of our dear nation.
"Badagry has come of age! Badagry modern political history dates back to 1863! Enough of mediocre representation! Better representation starts with the quality of candidates, and Ajulo possesses the cutting edge to restore Badagry to the limelight." he said.
Education:
Ajulo Mautin Oluwatoyin, hails from Ajara Agamathen in Badagry Local Government. His elementary and Secondary School education was in Ajara, Badagry. He furthered his education at Lagos State Polytechnic, Isolo, Lagos, where he obtained Ordinary National Diploma and Higher National Diploma, respectively, in Accounting with Upper Credit. He obtained his Postgraduate degree in Business Administration at Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos. He is a student member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Work & Experience:
Ajulo, worked as a Police Detective (Investigation Police Officer - IPO) with the Nigeria police force in Ilupeju crime branch, Lion building. He served both in the divisional crime and Area crime office, Itire crime branch and surveillance, and also at Kesta police post crime branch under the Adeniji Adele police division from 1990 to 1997, when he voluntary disengaged from the force. The transfer gave him the opportunity to continue his education since he was already admitted to the Lagos State Polytechnic, Isolo.
Mautin, traversed several states of the Federation in Nigeria during the course of his service as an investigator and won several cases in court, including at Tinubu Court, Igbosere Court, and Mushin Court, to mention just a few.
Mautin Ajulo, began his practical Accounting profession in the year 2000 at Intercontinental Distillers Limited (Producers of Chelsea Gin) as Industrial Training and later became Stock Control Officer before joining the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs Department of National Civic Registration, (DNCR) in 2002 as a Computer Operator. He later joined Dangote Group of Companies (Dangote Agrosacks Limited) as payroll head in 2003 and left as Plant Accountant at Obajana Agrosacks Limited in 2010 to join Devyani International Nigeria Limited (KFC) as the Stock/Fixed Assets Accountant in the same year. He was later given more responsibility in Supply Chain as the Officer in Charge of imports, costing and clearing before his resignation in 2019.
Oluwatoyin, attended training and workshops in various capacities during his professional practice and experience. Some of these are highlighted below:
▪️ An education workshop on Accounting for Employee Benefits and Overview of the Pension Reform Act 2004, organised by the Nigerian Accounting Standards Board.
▪️ Workshop on Application of Strategic Management in Co-operatives, organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operative.
▪️ National Workshop on Current Issues in the Nigerian Taxation System, organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
▪️ Training of participation with a Certificate in Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel, organized by Dangote Group.
▪️ Training on brand crisis management, organized by Devyani International Nigeria Limited (KFC).
▪️ Training on Advance Microsoft Office Excel, organized by Devyani International Nigeria Limited (KFC).
Mautin, became a consultant in hospitality management business which included Duban International Hotel Limited as the Operations Manager so as to enable him drive his political career and run his private company as the CEO/MD. Currently, he is a politician and the managing director of MAEDREAM VENTURES directly responsible for the smooth administration and operational efficiency of the company. He is a diligent goal-getter and has worked hard and propelled the company to growth from strength to strength.
Ajulo, due to his active contributions to human development, both in public/private firms and directly to his people, including his grassroots activities, has been involved in politics indirectly since 1999. He however became fully involved after his years of experience with corporate organizations, when he contested for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Badagry Constituency II primaries in 2018 under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC). He was also the Assistant Central Coordinator Footsoldier for (Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu - BOS) Campaign Group, representing Badagry Local Government. He participated in the "Eko Asanwa’’ market storm during the BOS campaign for Governor Sanwo-Olu with other members of LAHA 2019 together with the wife of the Governor (Mrs. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu) and the Deputy Governor's wife throughout various markets in Lagos State.
Mautin, Contested for Badagry Local Government Chairmanship primaries in 2021 under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC). He has been a member of "Eko Catalysts" since 2019, an NGO with the objectives of giving support to the State Government where necessary and the entire people of the State for a greater Lagos. He was appointed as Assistant Director of Education of Tinubu Support Organisation (TSO) Lagos Chapter in 2021. He was also appointed in 2023 as CENTRAL Coordinator for Lagos ICC/ICG Footsoldier, Badagry Federation for Tinubu/Shetima and Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat campaign organizations.
He is happily married with children.
