Real Acts of Kindness (RAK) Development Foundation, in partnership with the Lagos State Government, has distributed palliative box containing essential food items to underserved communities in Badagry.
The palliatives were distributed on Wednesday and Thursday to Gbaja, Gberefu, and Imoba community in Badagry, Lagos State. To cushion the effect of the current high cost of living.
The palliatives box contains garri, rice, and beans; this is in tandem with SDG 2: Zero Hunger. Supporting the people through the initiative and ensuring no one is left behind.
Antonia Balekan, the representative of the RAK Foundation at the event, told News Peddlers that the palliatives had come through the Lagos State Government. "This was meant to get to the grassroots, and RAK Foundation, known for always reaching out to the needy and providing for less privilege at the grassroots level, decided to assist in delivering these palliatives to the people. The palliative consists of food items like rice, beans, and garri. Three communities have benefited from this, which are Gbaji, Gberefu, and Imoba."
Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Lagos State government and also appreciated RAK Foundation for getting it across to them.
"Committed to our mission, we continue to strive for sustainable change and stand by communities in need. To uphold the spirit of kindness and support for a better, more inclusive world.
"You know that it is not easy for people out there. People are going through a lot. Many families are struggling to make ends meet due to the high cost of food. We know we can't reach everyone, but no matter how little, we will make sure we always reach out to those in need.
"We hope to get more supplies, and once we have supplies again, we will reach out to other communities", she said.
She added that Mobolaji Ogunlende has said that the people should continue to strive for sustainable change.
