Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende (RAK), the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development in Lagos State, celebrated the grand opening of the Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle, Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government in Lagos State, in an occasion full with excitement, vision, and purpose.

The reopening of the Maracana Stadium is more than a symbolic gesture; it is a tribute to the transformative power of public-private partnerships, which Hon. Ogunlende has unwaveringly supported. The gathering underlined the concept that nation-building is a collaborative effort and that governments cannot shoulder the burden alone.
In a statement to the media, Hon. Ogunlende said, "This is a shining example of a successful Public-Private partnership initiative, underscoring the fact that nation-building is not the sole responsibility of governments, but a collective endeavour."
His message was well received by the private sector, and the opportunity to collaborate on such transformative projects was given once more
The newly restored and well-equipped Maracana Stadium is presently located in Ajeromi Ifelodun, a bustling nexus of cultures and customs in Lagos State. Hon. Ogunlende commended the Local Government Chairman, Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola, and his committed team for their outstanding idea and for creating the conditions for it to succeed.
The joy on the faces of the young people of Ajeromi Ifelodun when they formally received access to the lively facility was truly incredible. This accomplishment is precisely aligned with the Sanwo-Olu-led Lagos State Government's THEMES+ programme, which focuses on youth empowerment and social inclusion.
This grand inauguration was more than simply an occasion; it was an invitation to widened private sector involvement and partnership, encouraging the replication of similar transformative projects across Lagos State. Hon. Ogunlende pointed out the Lagos State Governor's unrelenting intention to deliver on the Greater Lagos pledge through his THEMES+ agenda.
He also underlined the Ministry of Youth and Social Development's preparedness to engage and collaborate on the establishment of developmental programmes for the benefit of all Lagosians.
The opening of Maracana Stadium was more than simply sports; it was about bridging gaps, providing chances, and realising a shared vision of growth, unity, and empowerment. Lagos State continues on its path to a brighter future, distinguished by innovative relationships and a determination to make a difference.
