Hon. Gbenu Joseph, Executive Chairman of Badagry West LCDA, has laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new administrative block at the Council Secretariat in Kankon-Owode, Badagry, Lagos State.
Hon. Gbenu Joseph, who was accompanied to the construction site on Thursday by his executives, councillors and management staff shortly after the presentation of free GCE forms to council students, explained that the new building will house more council staff for administrative purposes.

In a statement made available to newsmen by Solomon Zosu the SSA on information, Gbenu Henugbe, said that his administration has concluded plans to construct another two-in-one 18 offices, totaling 36 rooms, a mini hall and other facilities to improve administrative performance in the council.
He stated that the construction of the new facility was unavoidable because the council is already dealing with a lack of offices due to an increase in the number of staff posted in recent years.
"It is imperative for our administration to fulfil our campaign promises by giving our secretariat a facelift in terms of structures for the comfort of workers of the local government, hence the groundbreaking of the administrative block." Gbenu stated
In terms of duration, the Chairman stated that the project is expected to last six months, God willing.
The council chairman stated that he had made remarkable progress in all areas during his second term.
"This administration has kept the eye on the ball in terms of Robust empowerment and rural development, Improved IGR for wealth creation, Active Social Welfare and Educational/Health Services, as well as Renewed Partnership for good Governance" , Gbenu said.
