Nobody can get power in court through the backdoor: APC Governor Alia

Benue State: Governor Hyacinth Alia 

Hyacinth Alia, governor of Benue, says Nigeria's legal system is fair, just, and transparent, and that political parties and their candidates would not be able to gain power through the backdoor.

According to Tersoo Kula, Mr Alia's principal press secretary, he said this while dedicating his victory at the governorship election petitions tribunal to God and the Benue people.

Mr Alia's victory was maintained by the tribunal, which dismissed a plea submitted by Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate Titus Mba.

Mr Alia stated that the court established that it is the common man's last hope.

"The court has demonstrated that no power is strong enough to overthrow the people's supreme will." It has shown that no one can gain power through the back door," Mr Alia said.

The governor informed the people that he was concerned about their well-being.

"The governor also urged members of the opposition to join him in his efforts to build a state that everyone can be proud of," the statement continued.
