National Youth Council of Nigeria NYCN Badagry West Local Branch, has met Dera Nnadi the Customs Comptroller Seme Border Command to familiarize itself with the security personnel and to promote unity.
The youth group was on a Familiarisation visit to the Customs Comptrollers office on Thursday to harmonies the relationship between the customs department and the good people of Badagry, Lagos State.
Aladeotan David the NYCN president Badagry West chapter told News Peddlers that areas of collaboration were discussed at the meeting in other to enhance a peaceful coexistence among the officers and the inheritance of the border communities.

"In time past there have been several rifts between the officers and the commuters but NYCN has taken it as its responsibility to bring Cooperation between the agency and the people in other to achieve peace and harmony."
Dera Nnadi Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Area Comptroller Seme Border Command, was happy about the visit and appreciated the youth council. Commending the moves of NYCN for its efforts to promote peace in the local government.
He stated, "There is a need for the council and his department to work in harmony for the development and progress of the community."

He added that the responsibility of Customs officers is to combat crime in related issues of smuggling as they threaten the peace of the Nation. And that the NYCN should continue to orientate the populace to deviate from illegal border activities and most especially the woman, who sees smuggling as the order of the day.
He urges the youth groups to take advantage of the vast land available in Badagry for agricultural purposes.
"My department will continue to reckon with available stakeholders in providing solutions to issues that threaten our peace as a Nation," he said.

David further said "The youth council and the Customs both play essential roles in the development and progress of a community. By working in harmony.
"The youth council and the Customs can leverage their respective strengths to achieve common goals and drive positive change within the community. Here are some potential benefits of their collaboration.
"I appreciate the Nigeria Customs under Nnadi for his open door policies and the provision of football materials to the young people of diverse groups and football clubs towards harmonising the people through his sport approach and accepting to work with the youth council.
"I want to also use this opportunity to appreciate Hon. Gbenu Henugbe Joseph the Executive Chairman Badagry West, who made this visit possible, he consistently supports the initiatives of NYCN Badagry West," he added.
