BUA foods promises to keep rice prices stable throughout Nigeria

 By: News Peddlers

BUA Foods has informed distributors of its rice products that it would maintain the price of its BUA Rice to support efforts to make rice more accessible in Nigeria, showing a remarkable commitment to the country's agricultural industry and economy.

This is due to the company's newly upgraded 200,000 tonnes per year rice mill in Kano, which uses locally sourced rice paddy, the company said in a statement.

The company claims that the little reliance on foreign exchange for rice production led to the decision to maintain prices. The BUA Group Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, had stated that BUA's goal would be to focus on areas where raw materials can be sourced locally across all of its business areas, including rice, to promote food security in Nigeria and support the government in National development before the BUA Foods business integration, which saw its listing in 2022.

A major distributor in Kano claimed that in spite of distributors' excitement over this development, they were confident that BUA Foods would continue to drive down rice prices in the same way that it had done with its other food items like flour, sugar, and pasta.

Backward integration by BUA Foods, which prioritises local agricultural resources, helps the country become self-sufficient in the production of rice and sugar while also assisting Nigerian farmers.

Industry stakeholders have come to recognise and respect BUA Foods' unwavering dedication to its vision. BUA Foods has established itself as a pioneer in the movement towards sustainable food production thanks to the company's efforts to support Nigeria's agricultural industry, which have been praised.

BUA Foods will be better able to meet the rising demand for its premium rice products because of to the upgraded rice mill and the parboiling facility. The company will be able to do this while upholding its commitment to excellence and guaranteeing that customers can access premium, locally produced rice.

BUA Foods is making great progress in the development of the Nigerian rice industry, but the company is still committed to strengthening ties with farmers, empowering local communities, and improving the country's agricultural environment as a whole.
