Several people killed in Hamburg Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall

Several people were killed in a Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall in Hamburg, Germany.

The shooting also left several victims with gunshot wounds, according to DW, a German publication.

According to German media reports, the shooting occurred around 9:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall in the Gross Borstel district.

"All of the dead have gunshot wounds," a police spokesperson said.

According to police, the motive for the shooting was not immediately clear, and the shooter(s) have yet to be identified.

The Hamburg Police Department tweeted that the situation had been brought under control without the use of force.

"Our investigations and measures are moving at full speed. "As soon as we have reliable information about the use in #GroßBorstel, we will notify you immediately," said the police. "We found a lifeless person in a community centre in #GroßBorstel, which we assume could be a perpetrator. We conduct extensive checks and searches to rule out the involvement of other perpetrators."

"Based on the current state of affairs, we assume a perpetrator," the police said. The police presence in the area is gradually being reduced. "Investigations into the crime's background are ongoing," according to the statement, and they "have set up a reference portal to which photos and videos of the crime or relevant events in this context can be uploaded."
