Ojo 'Fadeyi Oloro' Arowosafe |
Peoples Gazette can confirm that veteran Nollywood actor Ojo Arowosafe, also known as Fadeyi Oloro, died at the age of 66.
The Ekiti-born actor, who rose to fame in the 1980s and 1990s for his trademarked herbalist character, died on Tuesday afternoon after a long battle with kidney disease, among other things.
Arowosafe was born on September 15, 1957, in Igbara Odo, Ekiti, and rose to prominence as an antagonist in Yoruba films, accompanied by his ever-vibrant recitation of chants and incantations.
Arowosafe, who starred in the 1980s film 'Arelu,' begged Nigerians for help last month during an Instagram live session with popular OAP Daddy Freeze through his daughter after being served with a six-month eviction notice for unpaid rent.
Following that, Tobi Adegboyega of Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church in the United Kingdom donated N3 million for Arowosafe's treatment and other outstanding bills.
