Mojeed Salami, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Seme Police Division of the Lagos State Police Command, has died.
On Tuesday, January 10, SP Salami reportedly collapsed in his office and was pronounced dead at the hospital where he was rushed.
Vanguard reported that the deceased had complained of a headache on that day and had gone to the hospital.
He returned, but he was still sick. He asked his orderly to summon the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) to his office because he needed to leave but couldn't without turning over official proceedings to the DCO.
According to reports, the orderly returned to meet the deceased on the floor, who was gasping for air. He was airlifted to Badagry General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
"We regret to announce the death (while in service) of SP Salami Mojeed, DPO Seme Division, which occurred on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, following a brief illness,” according to the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin.
"It surprised everyone because there was nothing seriously wrong with his health. He allegedly complained of a minor headache, went to the hospital, returned to work, and died shortly thereafter. May Allah grant him firdaus aljannah. Amin"
Meanwhile, Mojeed Salami was laid to rest in his hometown of Ede, Osun State.
