Brig.-Gen. Sani Sulaiman, Brigade Commander, stated this on Saturday at the Obinze Barracks during the 2023 edition of the West African Social Activities (WASA).
Mr Sulaiman also stated that the brigade would do everything within its legal authority to protect the people's collective will.
He urged other security agencies to "square up with the army" to ensure a secure environment for a smooth electioneering process.
"Our commitment to the safety of Imo voters' lives and property remains unwavering.
"We thank the state's security agencies for the level of cooperation we received in 2022 and urge them to do even more this election season," he said.
The brigade commander also expressed gratitude to Governor Hope Uzodimma for her support of the Nigerian Army in general and the brigade in particular, particularly during Nigerian Army Day celebrations.
He also thanked Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, Chief of Army Staff, for providing the logistics required for adequate security in the state.
He also thanked the Nigerian Army's General Officer Commanding, 82 Division, Maj.-Gen. Umar Musa, and retired generals for mentoring the brigade.
Mr Uzodimma thanked the brigade for its tireless efforts, which resulted in the restoration of peace and security in Imo.
He pledged his continued support for the military and all of its activities.
He expressed the people and government of Imo's condolences to the brigade for the loss of soldiers in the line of duty.
