President Joe Biden will make remarks and lay a wreath at the Pentagon on Sunday to commemorate the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the White House announced on Tuesday.

On September 11, thousands of people will assemble in New York City, Washington D.C., and Shanksville, Pennsylvania to remember the nearly 3,000 people who died on September 11, 2001, when hijacked jetliners crashed into the Pentagon, the World Trade Center, and a field in Pennsylvania.

There will be a ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial in New York City where mourners will assemble as they have every year since the attack for the reading of the names of those who died in the 1993 and 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center.

At 8:46 a.m. EDT, they will observe a city wide moment of silence to respect when American Airlines Flight 11 collided with the North Tower, they will also pause for a second time, this time at 9:03 a.m. EDT, when United Airlines Flight 175 struck the South Tower.

Additional silences will be held at the following times: 9:37 a.m., when American Airlines Flight 77 struck the Pentagon; 9:59 a.m., when the South Tower collapsed; 10:03 a.m., when United Flight 93 crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania; and 10:28 a.m., when the North Tower fell.
