Collapse Deeper Life Church in Badagry |
The Lagos state government had sealed the collapsed
Deeper Life church and the victims appreciated the support of the Church for taking full responsibility in treating the victims.
NewsPeddlers had earlier reported the collapse
of a Deeper Life Church on April 24 in Iragbo, Badagry Lagos state, where about
six members were fatally injured.
In response to the incident, the state government
sent officials from Lagos State Building Control Agency to investigate the incident,
seal the premises and prohibit any religious activity there.
A resident close to the premises told NewsPeddlres
that, the week the incident happened about three groups of Lagos State officials
came to the premises to seal the area.
A classified source who speaks with NewsPeddlers
said the general overseer of Deeper Life Bible Church, Dr. Pastor Williams Folorunsho
Kumuyi has queried the relevant authorities who are supposed to monitor the construction
of the building, which includes the church building committee and some district
coordinators. Calling them to explain how and why the incident occurred.
Immediately after NewPeddlers reported the incident,
there were several calls to retract the report but the platform being so passionate
about the well-being of the victims kept the report in circulation.
Further investigation disclosed that all the
victims except the young girl who broke her femur(lapse bone) are now in a stable
condition.
The parent of the girl said the treatment will take three
months for her to fully recover.
“We appreciate
the effort of the Church if not, I don’t think a can afford the cost to treat my
daughter if the church had not helped us. We thank God she is now in stable condition,
but the doctor said it’ll take three months for her to be healed,” her father said
“The church has tried for us, the girl has been
really useful to me. She always helps me sell fish since age is not on my side any
longer. Since the incident the mother has been with her there,” the ground mother
said.
Mr. Topohozin Tunde who was also a victim, thank the church for the
support and that the church shouldn’t forget the promise they made.
“I thank God and also the church for their support
so far. They said they are going to make some provisions for those that were injured
but we have not seen anything,” He said.
