OPINION: The Party that can save us in Nigeria By: DOVOEKE DANIEL

By: DOVOEKE DANIEL

There is no alternative party which has the structure and capacity to match APC in all ramifications except the PDP.

with the level of destruction of our political system, insecurity, hunger, poverty, and beyond all, sharp division within our society, as there are pockets of agitation here and there.

It became obvious that the only party which can salvage our wreckage ship is the PDP.

Let me take you back history lane, a little bit. A sinister event which can be likened to that of sharp division and ethnic consciousness rose within the United States of America during the era of immediate past president Donald Trump. It was in view of this, that all Americans rose up to fight for what rightfully belong to all Americans and not the Trumpist section of America.

Come back to Nigeria, to avoid too much digression as the American incident may quickly become boring, although many of you are aware of the story.

APC caused great division in Nigeria, a party which is highly nepotic, where only one section are above the law and others are subjective to the law. This act bred high level ethnic consciousness and pockets of agitation rose up from every quarters of Nigeria. This is where Nigerians began to feel unsafe and regretful of the party in power (APC) and in response began to seek alternative.

Although, people may say APC and PDP are same coin with two surfaces but inversely with different manifesto. This implies that even though they may look alike with cross-carpeting of members, yet, both parties have independent constitution different from each other.

The hatred created by APC have to be cleaned up by PDP as Nigerians are aware of the nepotism of APC to the altruism of PDP. It is in this regard I encourage everyone to choose the alternative which is PDP.

To further buttress my argument about the selfishness of APC, I will bring it down to our local politics here in Badagry. Badagry or the Ogu tribe is one of the smallest ethnic group in Nigeria but in the era of PDP, Badagrians can attest to the fact that, a Badagrian became the chief of Air staff, to further this argument, it was on record that 2 seperate Badagrians have risen to the scepter of politics in Lagos and even in Nigeria.

Hon. Kosh who is currently the deputy national secretary of PDP is a Badagrian who was also formerly Lagos state PDP chairman, and it became historical as the current chairman of Lagos state PDP is also from Badagry. Evidence shows that Olusegun Obasanjo also visited Badagry including the Palace of the paramount ruler of Badagry, this was not exclusive to him as the era of GoodLuck Jonathan followed suit. However, the current president don't even know if Badagry exist or they have a king but rather inflict more hardship by closing our border to enrich some people from one section.

On the contrary, the best position, Badagry had been getting from APC recently is Special adviser and APC Lagos state vice chairman. We have no permanent secretary from Badagry, not a single commissioner, yet, Badagrians are deceived to follow such a party.

APC will not give any higher power to Badagry from all indications. We have never even produced a senator not to mention the governor, but I can boldly say that we can get those positions if PDP reposition itself into power.

PDP will return to power because everyone in Nigeria of today are now tired of APC.

Good News for Badagry, I will not say choose the best, as we have seen from my analogy that PDP is our preferred party. A party which favors minority.
