Barr. Abayomi Medemaku had earlier yesterday declared the withdrawal of his 2023, House of Representatives ambition.
In a press release forwarded to News Peddlers he said its very necessary for him to update his supporters on new development.
"It has become imperative and necessary for me to update my teeming followers and supporters with "my decision" to withdraw totally from contesting in the 2023 forthcoming General Election".
Medemaku who has declared his intention via Facebook live by February when was outside the country. Returned to the country few weeks back to commence consultations.
"In the cause of my consultation, I got approval, support and endorsement from various groups, communities and persons. I was accepted and endorsed by most leaders of my great party in Badagry PDP".He said
Citing the need to "invest more physical and material resources" as the reason why he has resolved to withdraw his ambition.
"Meanwhile, after further political permutations and analysis, and the need to invest more physical and material resources into making our Party ( PDP), a formidable opposition party in the Badagry federation and projecting the MEDEMAKU RESCUE MISSION beyond 2023, it is pertinent to strategize more.
In line with the above, my team and I have totally resolved to withdraw from the race for the House of Representatives or any other elective post in the 2023 general election.
We regret and apologize to all radio and tv stations, that have booked one interview or the other for us".
He further said "We regret and apologize to all our supporters that have printed posters, banners, face caps and t-shirts, just to make sure we come out victorious.
I sincerely appreciate those individuals and groups who volunteered and tried putting resources together to buy the Nomination form for House of Representatives for me, I am sorry to announce that I can no longer accept such Form or Money.
I also appreciate some of the leadership of YPP, my former party, who got across to me and offered me their Party's Ticket and also promised enormous support. I am sincerely grateful for your gesture, but I must say that I have come to PDP to stay, we win together and lose together!
I sincerely appreciate all those who keyed into this MEDEMAKU RESCUE MISSION from day 1. Olagunro Qudus, Elijah Akonasu, Gbenu Semasa, John Great, Gbenu Mathew, Paul, Michael Wusu, John Setome, Mr Mathew, Kikekon Manoah, John Bosco, Psalmist, Jacob Tomado, Eto, Isaiah, Ezekiel and all other members of MEDEMAKU RESCUE TEAM, and some who prefer to remain anonymous.
I appreciate the effort of Hon. Philip Aivoji, the State Party Chairman of PDP and his loving and motherly wife, for their support and guidance during this short time, Hon. T. Ayeni, Hon Bidemi Akojenu, Hon Gbowu Abiodun, Hon. Taseyon, Barr. Tinka Gabriel, all your efforts and supports are appreciated.
I also sincerely appreciate my Brother, Elder and Royal Father, The Aholu Sona of Ikoga Zebbe, for his fatherly role and advise, ade ape lori sir. God bless you sir.
