The
Russian forces on Friday has continued to surround Kiev, Unkraine capital, civilians
gave recount of the crime of Russian soldiers, forcing them from their homes and
shooting at civilians.
Speaking
with Aljazeera,
Svitlana Dekhtiar said, the Russians had assured her and her family, along with
other residents of her apartment complex, that they would not be harmed after the
city is occupied.
“The Russians told us not to be afraid, they will not hurt us,”
“But they create
conditions that are very frightening. We see that people who try to move out of
the city by cars carrying their things are being shot at. We could see the
front seat [of one vehicle] covered in blood.” She said.
Deckhtiar further told Aljazeera that her family flee leaving everything behind, after Russian troops captured the building they were hiding for days with little food and also shot at her.
“They said nothing to
people whose apartments they occupy. To one person they said ‘just go to the
basement’,” she recalled from a makeshift shelter in Kyiv.
“One neighbour wanted to come to his flat to take some clothes before evacuating but they did not allow him. He left with only his documents.” Deckhtiar said.
Mass evacuation of civilians was planned earlier this week but it was cancelled because Russian forces blocked several buses from moving out of Bucha.
The
Bucha City Council told Aljazeera
that it was “impossible to negotiate” with the “occupants”.

some cases, Russian army forces people out of their basements with smoke grenades.

by Russian army as they took the city.

Bucha, there is a large column of destroyed Russian tanks,” Volodymyr told Aljazeera.
“But close to our house there is a column of Ukrainian tanks also destroyed.”
He further said that
Russian forces smashed people’s mobile phones and took their SIM cards.
“I asked them, ‘Guys
what are you doing here? Everyone here is speaking Russian. Who are you trying
to liberate?’ Many here are from Donbas, we came in 2014. They gestured to
me that they had no idea,” he added.
