Bandit had killed about five people in Jauro Manu village in Gassol Local Government, Taraba state.
The fear of subsequent attack had created serious tension in the community.
Punch reported it that not less than six gunmen attacked Jauro Manu village, where they killed a farmer and businessman, Musa Iramiya, before attacking other resident of the community on 1st January 2022.
Other residents in the community are now scared, and planning to take refuge in the local government headquarters Mutum-Biyu. Adding that the community had never been attacked before now.
“There is tension and confusion in the community. Residents are now living in fear. Many residents are considering leaving the community for Mutum-Biyu for fear of attacks. But I want to appeal to the security agencies to increase surveillance in the area,” a resident said.
Contacting the DSP Usman Abdullahi, Taraba State Police Public Relations Officer. He said, the Divisional Police Officer of the area has not brief him on the incident.
