They were initially paid 10,000 nira when the capturing begun promising that they will be paid an additional 10,000 nira when the programme is over and when the gadget given for the programme is submitted. Meanwhile, some were not paid at all.

“In my local government, about 16 Corps members were part of the programme. They paid us 10,000 nira when we started the programme, assuring us they will pay us additional 10,000 nira if we successfully complete the programme”.

“It is unfortunate that till today nothing is done, even after we have submitted the gadgets that were given to us for the capturing”. He said.

He spoke about the action of the officials. When the Corps members were demanding for their money, the officials responded by shutting down the WhatsApp group.

“The annoying thing the organizers of Jalingo group did when they discovered that the Corps members were angry. Was that they shutdown the WhatsApp group that was meant for the programme with no update on how we are going to be paid ”.

“I finished my service this December, only to discover that other states had paid the participants fully. This is grouse injustice by the official in charge of Taraba State”.

He pleaded to the State governor and the NYSC State coordinator, to take the right steps to address the situation.

“I use this medium to plead to the Governor, Arch. Darius Dickson Ishaku and my able father, the State Coordinator Mr. Anthony Nzoka, to please talk to the officials in charge to pay us our money”.

“Because the capturing period was the most horrible period of my NYSC. It was a terrible experience, where I used my money to feed myself through the period”. He said.
