| Enugu police station attacked |
At least two police officers was killed at an attack on a police
station in Enugu State.
The attack took place at Adani, Uzo-Uwani, government area of
the state, in Wednesday 21st of April.
Channel TV confirmed that the officers responded to the attack
in gun battle where two police officers were confirmed dead.
In the statement of Enugu police state command, “the unknown gunmen, who carried out the attack came in large number. The officers on duty engaged them in gun battle where some of them escaped with serious injuries".
In a visit to the scene, Mohammed Ndatsu Aliyu, the commissioner
of police Enugu state, ordered the immediate movement of various security gadget
to the area to make sure the gunmen are apprehended.
He plead with the public, that they should provide any information
they have about the assailants to the security agencies so that they can be arrested.
The incident came after various attacks recently, on several
security agencies and their facilities in the southwest region of Nigeria.
